The rumour mill is turning ever faster, and the close of the transfer window is fast approaching. Everton, West Ham and Burnley have reportedly shown an interest in Taylor Harwood-Bellis. Adam Armstrong is being scouted by just about everyone in the top half of the Championship, and Cameron Archer appears to be going out on loan.
Meanwhile, Sport Republic are apparently looking for a new striker and somebody to replace H-B.
Here's what Saints must do in the final three days of the window to keep their slim hopes of promotion alive.
Sell the dead wood
Saints have two players in particular who need to depart if they want to reduce the amount of spending on wages, and in turn the squad size.
Winger Sam Edozie has yet to feature for the Saints this season, despite reportedly training every day this season.
With interest from overseas, the club should be looking to sell the English winger and reduce their wage bill.
In addition to Edozie, Joe Aribo is another player who should be off in the final 72 hours of the window. The Nigerian international, clearly no longer in Tonda Eckert’s plans at Southampton, has featured in just 7 matches this season, and not at all since December.
The Saints have already offloaded the ‘dead wood’ of Gavin Bazunu, Ryan Fraser, Damion Downs, and Ronnie Edwards (controversially) this month - Aribo and Edozie would be welcome departures for all parties.
Keep their top scorer

The rumour mill is whirling, and it appears Middlesbrough and Wrexham are both interested in Southampton's top scorer, Adam Armstrong.
The English centre forward, who has scored 11 goals and created 4 himself, has started 24 of the club’s 29 league games so far this season.
"There is a lot of noise and I think that is normal in every single window," Saints boss Eckert told BBC Radio Solent.
"Adam Armstrong is a great player, and we are doing everything at the moment to give him the final little bit of touch that every striker needs.
"The positive thing is he gets into some excellent positions; he is an excellent player."
While the Saints' number nine hasn’t been at his best this season, he’s still the side’s only semi-consistent source of goals - a must hold on to.
Sign an attacking reinforcement

Whether it’s a different profile of striker or a winger to add some depth and competition to the side’s forward line, it is clear that an injury to Leo Scienza could derail the Saints’ season, even further than it already has been.
A signing in one of these positions could top up the attacking threat the Saints have and add a different dynamic to their forward line.
Tonda Eckert told the Daily Echo, "I would love to tell you something concrete [on incomings], but it's tough. We're working on some bits. We're having some good conversations, and I think there are some bits that are moving forward."
With under 72 hours until the window shuts on Monday, 2nd February at 19:00, it is clear there is plenty of work in need of being done for the Saints.
