Oriol Romeu

In my opinion, the front runner for both major awards.

Oriol Romeu has filled the void left by Victor Wanyama almost seamlessly, becoming a pillar stone in the Southampton midfield. He has recently served a two-game ban for 10 yellow cards, but that does not take away from his excellent showings this season.

Hard tackling, keeping possession and showing the passion Saints fan love to see on the pitch. For me, a shining star in a relatively substandard showing in the Premier League this season.
