Maya Yoshida

Whilst not being able to convince everybody, Yoshida has come a long way this season in comparison to previous in proving his ability.

He has become more than a capable replacement for Jose Fonte, and is now taking the lead in defence due to van Dijk’s injury. Go back a year and he was top of fans list to sell!

Having clearly outperformed himself this season. It wouldn’t come as too much of a surprise if he was to take home a high profile award come 4th of May.
