Maxime Le Marchand (Nice)

The next player I’d love to see in a Saints shirt next season is Nice’s Maxime Le Marchand. A ball-playing centre-back with a fantastic passing accuracy, he would play great next to a bigger, more physical defender.

If Claude Puel stays I strongly believe that Southampton could get linked with the 27-year-old, as Puel was the one who brought him to Nice in the first place. Since then however he has fallen away from the starting line-up, making a move away this summer very much on the cards.

Despite limited game time he’s still averaging a passing accuracy of over 90 percent for the campaign, and his good skills on the ball make him comparable to someone like John Stones.

He really shouldn’t cost too much  in today’s market with his age and squad status, making him an excellent and realistic addition this summer.
