Sofiane Boufal

Boufal was Southampton’s biggest attacking threat in the time that he was on the pitch.

In a determined display, he produced a number of driving runs at the Watford defence and even won multiple tackles in midfield areas.

He was sacrificed in the 67th minute as manager Mauricio Pellegrino looked to combat the late aerial threat of their opponents by sending on another centre-back.

This was a negative mood, and although it helped Saints see the game out, fans will not have been happy with the loss of initiative in the match. Boufal just needs to keep showing his manager what he can bring to the team when he gets the chance.
