Southampton: Five midfielders Saints have been linked with this summer

Scott Arfield

Former Burnley and current Rangers man Arfield was mentioned as a target for Saints by the Daily Mail.

He scored 12 times and assisted seven further goals in 2018/19 for Steven Gerrard’s side whilst mostly playing as a central-midfielder.

The 30-year-old would be a somewhat strange target for Saints considering his age and style of play.

Arfield was something of an old-fashioned winger whilst playing in England and it would appear that Saints want players of potential.
