Southampton vs Liverpool: Premier League – Saints Player Ratings
By Marc Walker
Manager, Goalkeeper and Defenders
Ralph Hasenhuttl, Manager – 10
Fought for every ball with his players from the sidelines as always and was was overcome with emotion at the full-time whistle. What a man.
Fraser Forster, Goalkeeper – 7
A few clearances that perhaps didn’t go where he wanted them to but was not forced into enough action by Liverpool due to the defensive effort put in in front of him – a clean sheet will do his belief the world of good. Welcome back Fraser!
Kyle Walker-Peters, Right-Back – 10
Tireless effort whilst facing Sadio Mane and Andy Robertson. One of many of our players who will be up for Player of the Season, I’m sure.
Jan Bednarek, Centre-Back – 10
Threw his body in the way and made vital clearances when it mattered most. Unbelievably consistent for someone picked up for just £5m.
Five interceptions and seven clearances to keep the visitors out.
Jack Stephens, Centre-Back – 10
An excellent block to deny Mane a free shot from close range early in the second-half.
Five blocks, seven clearances and five interceptions. Who needs Vestergaard anyway?
Ryan Bertrand, Left-Back – 9
Rarely troubled by Salah and part of another rock solid defensive display. Sign the contract Ryan.
