Southampton's off-season buy Joshua Quarshie has indirectly hinted at a Premier League outfit he could be inclined to cheer in a possible relegation fight.

The first week of September is done and now, the door to English football's two everlasting fan debates can be unlocked. One being, the three Championship boys who can be termed Premier League entrants at next summer's inception, where hopefully one among the many Southampton predictions rings right.

Though players are deputised with bringing results instead of folding hands in hope, they are also partial for wanting a better division for themselves and their teams.

As and then, it's pointless quizzing any Saints player to form their promoted combinations with Southampton sidelined from it. But welcoming varied picks for Premier League relegation has no constraints attached to it.

Not in any order or a full triplet of teams, but €3.5m defensive prodigy Joshua Quarshie's preference for one squad to avoid the fall can now be guessed.

Quarshie's PL opinion seems crystal clear but it can quickly turn wrong

The German centre-back might be rooting for Leeds United to better the dropping zone, as the Daily Echo underlined in a recent report: "He took a particular interest in Leeds United games due to a friendship with former Dusseldorf teammate Ao Tanaka, and he watched the play-off final."

Until a handful of days, Leeds United won't be reeling beneath the seventeenth spot, but a bad run of matchdays can see them looking back at this twelfth spot as a thing of the past. As well as a gone advantage on building their Premier League foundations, where Southampton also don't have a favourable story to share.

Any how, Quarshie and Tanaka can always hope for some head-to-head games between Southampton and Leeds, and maybe reunite in either of these lineups.
