Leeds United are set to impact another of Southampton's transfer business after Shea Charles but this time, it's a Euro 2024 breakout star paving the way for a transfer windfall at St. Mary's.

Every Southampton fan witnessed how the previous World Cup dimmed down Southampton's transfer beliefs, and that's why most of the fanbase was content with not signing any Euro 2024 stars. Though Ramsdale did make England's Euro roster but calling him one of the tournament's star would be overly generous. He never got to guard the Three Lions goal.

With that, the Saints always remained unanswered as to whether recruiting some of Europe's headline prospects had done any good to defend their Premier League pride.

As for an estimated answer, they may opt to follow the case of Leeds United's new addition Jaka Bijol.

The 26-year-old Slovenian leader had a solid run of form that nearly resulted in bagging a Euro 2024 quarter-final berth too. However, Southampton are more concerned with the interesting ripple effect arising from his English top-flight switch.

Bella-Kotchap can rediscover lost defensive traits in Italy

In his new report, Florian Plettenberg said: "Bella-Kotchap is open to HSV, but Udinese can currently offer the most."

Agreed, Plettenberg didn't mention Udinese wishing to fill Bijol's void with Bella-Kotchap but Saints can assume that by connecting the dots. Rather, the notorious point is that it's the second time in the week that Leeds United's decisions are impacting Southampton.

Notably for defenders, receiving a clear Serie A path is a commendable feat for their calibre which can put Bella-Kotchap in a better position to display every defensive trick in his locker.

And they have been playing first division football for a considerable while meaning his prospects for a second and a bigger World Cup role are bright twelve months before the grand event.
