Jack Stephens updates on his recent actions in management as the defender hopes to coach youth teams in the future.

While it's been time since Southampton dropped the surprise bombshell on Jack Stephens' future, St. Mary's hasn't recovered from it. But, if earlier it was the Saints who surprised the fans, now it's the club captain himself at work.

That's because having seen a reduced role in the last few campaigns, Stephens has provided clarity on his future. Already in his 30s, the veteran Saint hints at hitting new strides in management.

Well, having worked with assistant boss Adam Lallana, Stephens' inclination for coaching shouldn't come as an out-of-the-box interest. Yet, his progress in the field will surprise fans for sure.

Interestingly, Stephens has already begun doing his FA coaching badges, as he is excited at the idea of working with youth steups.

As quoted by the Daily Echo, Stephens admitted: "I've done some of my badges and I want to continue to do them. There's no guarantees, with, with managing. But certainly I would like to be coaching at some level, whether that's younger age groups."

Jack Stephens' can work wonders with Gareth Bale at Plymouth

Honestly, while Stephens isn't yet convinced to take on senior roles, we have seen players turn full-time bosses many a time in the English division. And interestingly, an undeniable opportunity could be upcoming for him.

In case you remember, days ago, Saints icon Gareth Bale was rumoured for a Plymouth Arygle takeover. Should that happen in the upcoming years, Jack Stephens will naturally be drawn to return to his former club, but this time in a management role.

Who knows? The way Wrexham has jumped divisions in recent years, Stephens can replicate that at Plymouth with Gareth Bale's guidance.

For now, Jack Stephens is certain to lead Southampton next season but in case he switches to management soon, exciting things may turn up for him. But let's first wait to see how the defender's next campaign fares.
