Southampton's trophy-laden academy star Gareth Bale has taken the Saints by surprise by commencing his club ownership journey.

Yesterday, Southampton fans got another glimpse of how their club legends are celebrated among the elite European circles. But being a renowned talent factory, it's only fair that some of their academy gems too attain the respectable legendary status at some points in their playing career.

And who better than Gareth Bale, after all, he is a club icon in two places and not just one. Now, I'm not saying that he should complete his Southampton homecoming and give it another try at St. Mary's like many other fan favourites did.

Sure, it's always a great idea to remain connected with English football but it seems Bale has some different plans over the summer. According to a report from BBC, the boyhood Saint is toying with the idea of owning third-division outfit Plymouth Argyle.

Bale might complete the sporting turnaround at Plymouth Argyle

Well, they are doing a lot of things right now over there. Days ago, they shook hands with former Southampton coaching target Tom Cleverley at the expense of turning down Ruben Selles.

Surely, that might not have left a good taste among the Southampton fan base, but who knows, Bale's arrival could improve the relations between the two clubs for the better.

In the first place, Southampton aren't meeting them on-field in the near future but sweetening the transfer bond does no harm, either. Apart from that, let's wish the best to Bale in his new adventure and see how this speculated takeover progresses.

Shall he oversaw a remarkable Wrexham-like progress, Bale could arguably join the elite list of playing as well as owning a Premier League club, should Plymouth jump divisions quickly.

Talking about Southampton, they seem almost stuck in making transfer movements and thus, need some golden advice to bring their squad upgrade ambitions back on track.
