Since joining Championship side Sheffield Wednesday on a season long loan move in the summer transfer window, Southampton’s talented midfielder Shea Charles is thriving in the Championship. Charles joined Southampton in a £15 million transfer move from Premier League Champions Manchester City last year, and made his first team debut under manager Russell Martin. Charles made fifteen starts for the Saints in the previous season and showcased his huge potential in the middle of the park with his great range of passing and pace.
At Sheffield Wednesday, Charles has established himself as a first team starter and has gone strength to strength at his new club. Recently, the 20-year-old all-round midfielder displayed his brilliant finishing as he scored a last-minute winner for Danny Rohl's side in the 2-1 win over Coventry. Danny Rohl has previously been appointed as Southampton's assistant manager under former manager Ralph Hassenhuttl and therefore, is well familiar with Southampton's focus on developing young talents at the club.

Thus, Rohl decided to sign Charles on a loan move at Sheffield Wednesday and raved about the midfield prodigy's game awareness and decision making in the middle of the park. Recently, Rohl also expressed his opinion suggesting that Charles's great start to the new season could lead Southampton to consider bringing him in January, saying,
"Charles is strong with and against the ball, he is very good as a holding six. He understands where he has to cover, winning balls, accelerating the game.

Hopefully we can keep him the whole season, you never know what happens if he performs in this direction."
Meanwhile Southampton are yet to take their first win in the Premier League and couldn't keep their calm and composure in the midfield against Arsenal. Thus, if Russell Martin's side struggle to take some much needed wins in the upcoming league fixtures, Southampton could decide to recall promising talents such as Shea Charles from his loan move in the January transfer window as well.
