Italian league comes to Southampton's rescue to heal previous horror

Southampton's previous manager appointment from the Italian league was lacklustre. Yet, a new promising Serie A tactician can open the doors for making coaching amends in the form of Danny Rohl.

Football fans across the globe hold Italian football in esteemed regard for their hardworking grit and resilience. And all of this recognition is indeed deserved because their league provides some of the best nail-biting title and relegation races every year.

Coming to Southampton, they also opted to add fuel to their slow-paced marathon by instilling some Italian discipline. That addition was Ivan Juric who adapted the Saints' speed himself instead of going the preferred other way round.

Thus, Southampton should do their cross-analysis even more before recruiting any high performer from the Italian top-flight.

Again, that experience was disappointing but the Saints could benefit on this occasion. No, I am not propping any other Juric-like alternative but a Serie A star-manager in the making could do a big favour to Southampton.

Fabregas to accelerate Rohl's Southampton adventure

That name is Cesc Fabregas who has attracted a good chunk of admirers in Leipzig according to Philipp Hinze's revelation.

Now, let's rewind to a few days back when the German outfit was chasing Danny Rohl's signature. Though Hinze didn't rule out Rohl's homecoming, it seems a no-brainer that Leipzig or any other quality European squad would say no to learning from Premier League icon Fabregas himself.

So, should Southampton feel bad for watching Fabregas guide another bunch of wonderkids that are not theirs? No, and instead the Saints should accelerate their transfer paperwork to negotiate a breakthrough with both Rohl and Sheffield Wednesday.

Agreed, Rohl might not be inclined to leave his current employers early but a pre-agreement to step in Southampton's colours for the Championship will not be a bad offer for the German coach.
