Juventus reignite interest in raiding Southampton's midfield for 16-year-old Leo Rodella after previous Mateus Fernandes links.

Like it or not, the ongoing Club World Cup has been an underdog story in shifting Southampton's transfer window plans. While initially, the fans hoped to cash in by supplying key talent to English clubs ahead of the tournament, now they feel reduced to attracting foreign interest.

One of the best examples of this reality was Porto's interest in a Southampton shopping spree, and now, Juventus are following in too.

In case you know, despite having a competitive side, Juventus were a bit unlucky to draw competition favourites Real Madrid in the CWC Round of 16 itself. Likewise, it turned out to be an uneven tie where even previous target Mateus Fernandes may have been unable to aid their quarter-finals charge.

But what's interesting is that after this knockout, the Serie A club is looking to double down on their ongoing youth rebuild. And for that purpose, Juventus look forward to cultivating a future star as they show interest in signing Southampton's teenage talent Leo Rodella.

Saints wonderkid Rodella might continue his development in Italy

Recently, the Secret Scout confirmed the details on Rodella's future, quoting: "Southampton’s 16-Year-Old Leo Rodella has turned down scholarship and professional contract. The midfielder can leave this summer due to Italian passport. Rumour a move to Juventus is possible."

Honestly, for the far majority of Saints fans unaware of Rodella's potential, this may be any ordinary departure, but the club needs to follow this closely.

That's because, very similar to Tyler Dibling's 2022 Chelsea transfer, Rodella is a bright 16-year-old talent, who has had rare game time even in the youth setups. But while Southampton won back in Dibling's case, they need to be cautious enough to ensure some guarantee in Rodella's future transfer.

After all, for the Southampton academy that has been producing and exporting superstars, they won't want to let go of a reward share in case Leo Rodella becomes a notable Saints graduate ahead. Till then, let's first see where the prodigy ends up this summer.
