In Southampton's recent 3-0 home defeat against Manchester United, the Saints were the dominant side for around half an hour before conceding quick goals that resulted in a fourth Premier League defeat for Russell Martin's side. While the overall performance was underwhelming for the large part of the game, one Southampton star was brilliant throughout the match. The talented player is 18-year-old winger Tyler Dibling, who had been turning heads with his recent displays for Southampton this season.
Against Brentford and Cardiff City, Dibling showcased his huge potential which led several Southampton fans wondering when the promising right winger will start in the Premier League for the Saints. Manager Russell Martin made a total of four changes in the starting lineup to face the Red Devils and gave Dibling his first Premier League start in the massive home fixture. Despite playing against a top Premier League team, Dibling displayed his quality at the St. Mary's Stadium with great advancing runs down the right flank and came very close to scoring with an attempt on goal in the first fifteen minutes.

Around the half an hour mark, Dibling was brought down by Diogo Dalot inside the box and Southampton were awarded a penalty and a great chance to take the lead against Manchester United. However, Cameron Archer's attempt was saved by Andre Onana and from then, Erik Ten Hag's side scored twice before halftime and added a third in the second half to take a convincing 3-0 win. Although Southampton couldn't take any point from this match, Dibling received praise from several fans and former players such as Robbie Mustoe, who said,
"Tyler Dibling, the young kid, the right winger, the little left-footer, what a good little talent he looks like. I’m sure we’re going to see a lot more of him. Gets the penalty, absolutely too quick for Dalot there. "Robbie Mustoe,
Southampton face Everton in the Carabao Cup this week and Dibling will be looking to give another impressive performance to inspire Russell Martin's side to advance further in the Carabao Cup.
