Simon Rusk heaps praise on talented playmaker

Southampton have signed fourteen new players in this summer transfer window and as a result, have sent several young stars from their youth teams on a season long loan move in this summer transfer window. Thus, the Saints have signed a few talented players for their U21 team as well, which competes in the Premier League 2 this season. One of them in 19-year-old central midfielder, Noel Buck who joined Southampton from Major League Soccer side New England Revolution in this summer transfer window.

At 19-years-old, Noel has already made 57 first team appearances for New England Revolution after coming through the youth ranks at the club. In the 2022 Major League Soccer season, Noel made his debut and the same season scored his first goal for New England Revolution in a 3-0 win against defending champions New York City FC. The England U19 international has worked under Southampton's U21 manager Simon Rusk and Rusk was impressed with the box-to-box midfielder's passing and dribbling inside the final third.

After Southampton signed Noel Buck for their U21 side, Rusk has heaped praise on the creative playmaker, saying,

"Noel is a lad that I’m aware of. What we want for the Under-21s group is competition.

He’s a committed lad with a good attitude. We want good quality in the group and it's great for Noel that he is coming to join us."

Noel will make his debut for the U21 team in the Premier League 2 as they face West Brom in a massive fixture after registering a huge 2-1 win against defending Premier League 2 Champions Tottenham Hotspurs. Moreover, the Saints also have a big game as they face Manchester United in a massive home fixture at the St. Mary's Stadium. Now it remains to be seen whether Southampton take wins in both of these upcoming matches.
