Tyler Dibling impressive for Southampton in the 3-1 defeat

Recently, Southampton played Brentford in a away fixture in the third match day, but conceded three goals and faced the third defeat in the league. Currently, the Saints are nineteenth in the Premier League and look likely to be again involved in a relegation battle towards the end of the season. In this match, new signing Aaron Ramsdale made his Southampton debut following his £25 million move from Arsenal.
Throughout the match, defensive mistakes kept away Russell Martin's side from taking a draw in this match. However, there were a few positives for Southampton in this 3-1 defeat. The first being the fact that Yukinari Sugawara's goal was the first goal for the Saints this season, who hadn't managed to find the back of the net in the first two games.

Second, was Tyler Dibling's performance coming as a second half substitute in the match. Dibling created two key passes and registered one attempt on goal alongside contributing in the build up play on Sugawara's goal. This is the ninth first team appearance for the 18-year-old and his impressive performances have led several Premier League analysts asking why Dibling isn't starting matches for Southampton.
Speaking about Tyler Dibling, manager Russell Martin said,
"His body is not conditioned to do that yet at this level, but he is an outstanding player.

I think with Tyler, he has a level of talent that is unique. So we have to find a way to get him up to speed by doing that."
Therefore, Dibling is a very good young option for the Saints to improve their build up play inside the final third. But Southampton have several forwards who can score more goals, thus, Dibling is expected to be a regular starter in the first team in the next few seasons instead, when he will adapt well to the pace and physicality of the Premier League.
