Russell Martin draws comparisons between Tyler Dibling and Harry Kane, claiming the teenager has a better International future than the current English Captain for his age.

It's been some days since pundit Don Goodman presented the irresistible Tyler Dibling question to Southampton. Still, we haven't heard back anything from the Saints camp.

Admitted that this ain't easy to resolve, but what's prolonged Southampton's decision is the lack of proper action-takers for the job.

With Simon Rusk's departure and Will Still's fresh arrival, the Saints lack an authority figure to decide on Dibling. Someone who has closely followed the player enough.

Seems a helpless situation for Southampton, doesn't it? But thankfully, an ex-boss's recent comments might help the Saints. Intriguingly, it's the most despised name for Saints fans recently, Russell Martin, who has come to his previous club's rescue now.

Recently, on the Rest is Football podcast, Martin heaped praise on Dibling's exceptional talent, touting him a perfect long-term fit for England's national side.

In fact, for him who worked with Harry Kane at Norwich, Martin claims the teenager to be better than what the English Captain was at even 21.

Russell Martin's Dibling analysis might help Saints' decision-making

As quoted by Everton News, Martin admitted: "Tyler has every capability to go and play for England and at a top level for a very long time, because he’s powerful, he’s really quick. Both feet can shoot, no bang bang."

Honestly, being called one of the best talents Russell Martin ever witnessed might feel like an exaggerated claim now, but that wasn't the case months back.

In fact, under Martin, Dibling had leapfrogged significant club success and national success at just 18, before all started going downhill for him.

Truth be told, though Russell Martin's comment may be based on some time ago, this can help Southampton go a long way. If the new arrival, Will Still, somehow convinces himself of Dibling's potential, it can be of great benefit to Southampton's future overall.

Well, though from an opposition boss Russell Martin, this statement must help Southampton's decision-making on Dibling. Maybe, under Will Still, Dibling can prove to be the 'lad who'll fire them to the Premier League' as Goodman chipped in the other day.
