Ivan Juric eyes Saints tenure favourite Kamaldeen Sulemana as an ambitious signing at his new Atalanta project.

One can't help but admit that Patrick Viera's recent Sulemana approach would have Southampton extremely grateful to him. While this interest has raised hopes for a big departure, it has made Sulemana a transfer subject again.

That's because, after Genoa's approach, another Italian club has shown interest in Kamaldeen Sulemana. And in an even more unexpected reunion than of Ings and Armstrong, Sulemana may complete a Saints flop meetup now.

It's ex-Southampton boss Ivan Juric calling out for Kamaldeen Sulemana at Atalanta.

Juric-Sulemana reunion could be a big win for Southampton

A former Saints flop wanting another one seems intriguing, doesn't it? But only until one realizes that this reunion seems anything but awful.

In case you remember, one of the biggest themes of Juric's Saints formations was aligned with Sulemana as the chance creating inspiration, even though it came at the cost of Cameron Archer's dipping morale. And, thankfully, the winger repaid the faith shown in him back then, too.

In fact, having acknowledged the boss' contribution in his comeback to the playing eleven scheme of things, Sulemana was one of Juric's most loyal disciples during his Saints spell. That's why, while Atalanta's interest in the 23-year-old comes as surprising being a UCL competitor, it isn't shocking at all.

Recently, journalist Gianluca Di Marzio(via Football League World) confirmed Atalanta's interest in the winger which must've pleased every Saints fan out there.

As per the Sky Sports reporter, Juric's Atalanta has begun talks to sign Sulemana for his new Serie A stint. While Juric's ambition to bring in his entrusted player remains firm, a reunion is one to look for this summer.

Honestly, should Juric bring in Sulemana, it would be a win for Southampton more than anybody else. In fact, Saints fans may even forget Juric's horrible spell if he takes the 23-year-old flop off Southampton's hands.

For now, this rumour has definitely pumped in excitement amidst a static transfer window for the Saints. But will a departure happen this time, finally? We will need to wait and see.
