Southampton are out of the Premier League but Spanish media dropped a blooper that inspired laughs and re-highlighted the brutal division reality to Saints fans.
All twenty Premier League teams and their passionate fanbases will agree that English media can be over the top unbelievable at times. They came up with a Tyler Dibling appreciation debate in parallel to Cole Palmer and Saints know how it paled down miserably.
The Chelsea number ten probably saw those discussions and acted to save both face and pride. After all, a late comeback show to bag the Conference League and a first-half final special against current Super Cup holders Paris Saint Germain is more terrific than terrible, right?
But like England, Spain's top-flight also makes one part of the coveted Europe's five best leagues chart. So, some hilarious takes and bloopers are expected from their media too.
Saints handed weird transfer take and fans will giggle reading it
Currently, they involved Southampton into a rumour that built fan excitement like nothing and then left Saints giggling.
Saints Extra pointed out one silly mistake from Marca where Atletico Madrid fullback Nahuel Molina was the subject of transfer attention. That was quite common transfer stuff but then they dropped Southampton into the defender's Premier League suitors which is a far cry from the truth.
For a good few minutes, it feels pleasing to be associated with England's finest division but again, there is a fine line between praises, flatterings and bloopers. If we talk a season down the road and if Molina doesn't get to change kits, then Southampton can be a decent English route for him. But do we just ignore the Championship factor?
No, because the Saints can't let themselves and the abroad media seem laughable for an absent Premier League badge next to the club's crest.
