Tyler Dibling inspires Southampton to lie within touching distance of a top six Premier League finish in a talent oriented stat.
From being introduced to provide fresh legs to the Saints attack against Newcastle to getting applauded in front of Manchester United, Tyler Dibling has experienced a season like no other. Yes, it's the 19-year-old's debut campaign but the way he progressed as a squad depth option to leading the front three at times was truly an extraordinary achievement.
In doing so, Dibling represented the level of immense grassroots development he underwent in Southampton's youth ranks.
Consequently, the southpaw has brought pride to the Saints, else, how could've imagined a Champions League playing Tottenham to constantly circle around one of the most awful Southampton teams for signing a player. Yet, this isn't the end of praises for the Saints.
Saints have high Championship hopes for Dibling if he stays
As according to the PA news, Dibling has also steered the club to an honourable Premier League mention which isn't a cup of tea for even the elite English clubs. To give you an idea, Southampton have easily overtaken Cup winners Newcastle United and Europa League Champions Tottenham Hotspur by a mile, in that statistic.
As pointed out by the Daily Echo, that's the game time won by every top-flight club's local talents where PA news has placed the Saints in the eighth position.
Well, it's good to sometimes sit closer to the top of the table instead of rock-bottom, isn't it Southampton fans? After all, the club needs to introduce that shift in mindset for the next twelve months or so.
Further, should Dibling make up his mind to see through the less fancied second-division test, Southampton can again become contenders to push for a top six Premier League spot in the above aspect.
Shall the Saints hit upward gears in the top-flight then, who knows Dibling might oversee a top six league finish at St. Mary's too.
Definitely an optimistic thought, but let's hope how the overall progress goes.
