Southampton's former winger Dusan Tadic has made it to the free agent pool but the Saints have straightaway dismissed any intriguing thoughts of his summer homecoming.

Today, Fraser Forster's Tottenham departure has ignited a wave of smiles among the Saints who are dreaming of his potential St. Mary's homecoming. Well, it's pretty early to speculate that but there is nothing wrong in again expecting a few player returns like Adam Lallana in the past year.

And needless to say, those moves should be on a free transfer, else, paying transfer fees for ageing players becomes a risky call. Both in terms of finances as well as fitness, an area whose significance Southampton are already learning the hard way.

Being aware of these aspects, targeting in-form players with a decent health record can properly go hand-in-hand with Southampton's squad upgrade.

Southampton don't plan to change youth-oriented stance for Tadic

So, how about a nostalgia driven move for Saints hero and Ajax icon, Dusan Tadic? Honestly, he's out of contract currently so, there is going to be a good amount of transfer buzz around him, including any return rumours for all the teams he has played for.

Imagine him on the left wing and his biggest admirer, Tyler Dibling on the other, that attack will boost creativity all across the final third.

Well, coming to the worst part, Southampton aren't impressed by this idea. In the words of Daily Echo's George Rees-Julian: "At 36, he doesn't fit the development-focused recruitment model set out by Johannes Spors. He would be a welcome addition, though, IMO."

Basically, there is a rare chance Southampton will grab the Tadic deal. Anyways, whatever reinforcements they consider doing in the front three, they should listen to legendary defender Francis Benali beforehand.

Because at the end of the day, the task is improving Southampton's roster whether that be through rising stars or seasoned veterans.
