Southampton's young forward Samuel Edozie might head back to Belgium for another stint at a league-title aiming club.
For the majority of their transfer history, Southampton fans have never stood in the way of any of their in-demand starters. Though, Saints legend Matt Le Tissier never gave into any exit thoughts but it's obvious that the St. Mary's faithful wouldn't have opposed a different decision out of respect for his iconic career.
That being said, the current squad won't be treated with a strong retention desire as long as the club, the player in question and the incoming offer are on the same page.
However, a loan player getting linked with an opening created at one of Europe's league runners-up will be enough to trigger disapproving reactions from the Southampton fanbase.
According to a report from journalist Sacha Tavolieri, Belgian top-flight outfit Club Brugge is playing with the idea of bringing Saints youngster Samuel Edozie back to his recent division. And the why may stem from their desire to oversee a major lineup shuffling to retain their domestic dominance.
Moving on from Edozie will force Saints into attacker's market
Now, this reason can satisfy all parties involved but the Southampton fans who might deem it an unnecessary twist. After all, Edozie has reached that phase in his career which the club had patiently waited for, a rising wide attacker who can share the goalscoring burden in a front three which is being built from scratch.
Plus, the 21-year-old isn't heavily rated on the transfers scale, so, why undersell him when he is about to translate all his brief first-team experiences onto the score-sheets.
If the Southampton board lets Edozie's departure go through, then it may not sit well with his close companion Shea Charles either. On top of that, the headache of a fresh forward recruitment can't be ignored but let's see how this rumour shapes up.
