Southampton's former Premier League starter Nathan Redmond couldn't hide his joy in watching his childhood team Birmingham City's kit unveiling.
With the month ending, every leftover English club appears to have figured out ways to handle their incoming annual kit reminders. Southampton have also followed suit in this trend, and so have basically every other club but it's the first impressions that may differ among every fanbase.
Needless to say, ex-players and especially the boyhood club graduates also fall in that category, hence, their feeling always strikes a nostalgic tone on these occasions. Now, any former Saint is yet to present their initial thoughts in this regard but as pointed out by the Football League World, a St. Mary's hero has applauded one of his other childhood team's kit unveiling.
Redmond may trace Lallana's career steps soon
The departed star in question is Nathan Redmond who joined hands with Kyle Walker-Peters in hitting the free agent pool in May itself. However, unlike the latter, Redmond isn't in a mood to disrupt his faint homecoming hopes and as the report suggests, he may get rewarded a brief contract to don Birmingham City's colours again.
Honestly, the optimism on Redmond's part is great and what can be a better time than this for him to take motivation from other Southampton comeback stories?
Adam Lallana can be a brilliant example for the former despite the fact that neither of them got the chance to start a Saints fixture on the same team. Still, Lallana's return proves that any fan favourite star can link up with the current roster and help them in multiple ways than just showcasing their playing genius.
Will Redmond too opt for a player turned coach route there as Lallana took at St. Mary's remains to be seen.
