Southampton only have seven matches left of their regular Championship season, as they attempt to consolidate a place in the playoff picture between now, and May's final day.
At the time of writing, Tonda Eckert's men are surely a good bet to finish inside these coveted playoff positions, with a 2-0 win over Oxford United - just before the international break - meaning the promotion-chasing Saints are now 14 games unbeaten in all competitions.
Despite this flawless run of form making them overwhelming favourites, they still have plenty of competition breathing down their necks in the unpredictable division.
Indeed, Wrexham are sat on the exact same 63-point tally as the Saints, with goal difference the only reason the Red Dragons are sat in seventh spot.
Moreover, Derby County are only three points behind the playoff-aspiring pair, as well, with Southampton needing to maintain this unbeaten run of form, for as long as they possibly can, to avoid a last-minute drop from the top six.
April feels like a pivotal month; therefore, with six of the Saints' remaining seven clashes of the league season falling in a congested block of matches, when March concludes.
Here are a selection of some big games to come in April that could make or break Eckert and Co.'s season.
Wrexham vs Southampton
Of course, before Southampton do battle with their nearest playoff foes in Wrexham, they have a very exciting FA Cup quarter-final showdown with Arsenal to factor into their overcrowded set of matches.
While beating Arsenal would go down as another memorable match in this season's iteration of the FA Cup, Southampton fans would be jumping for joy a lot more if they managed to overcome their Welsh hosts at the Racecourse Ground.
All the build-up will focus on the Hollywood buzz that surrounds Wrexham, but the Saints would steal all the headlines if they managed to get the better of Phil Parkinson's men.
Southampton vs Derby County
Directly after this contest with the Red Dragons, the fixture Gods have handed the South Coast side another humdinger of a match, versus John Eustace's playoff hopefuls.
If the Saints followed up a magical away day in Wales with another three points against Derby, they really would send shockwaves through the entire division, as they mean business about instantly returning to the Premier League.
Southampton vs Bristol City
Southampton's home match versus Ipswich Town, towards the very end of April, could well have been my final choice here, as the nerves are potentially ramped up.
Moreover, another solid pick would have been the Saints' final day trip to Preston North End, but a spot in the playoffs might have been achieved, by this point in the gruelling 46-game campaign.
My choice here is Southampton's match-up with Bristol City on the 21st of April, as it signals the start of a three-game stretch of home matches, that the Saints will need to be on top form throughout, to avoid any unwanted results.
The Championship never disappoints in being an entertaining league, with the South Coast giants hopeful they won't be stung by the erratic nature of the division when all is said and done come May.
