In the recent months, Southampton's 18-year-old prodigy Tyler Dibling has made an impressive progress in the first team under manager Russell Martin. Dibling's consistent performances on the right flank has been one of the biggest positives for the Saints, who aim to turnaround their underwhelming start to the Premier League season. Recently, new signing Aaron Ramsdale heaped praise on the England U19 international and compared his dribbling with former PFA Young Player of the Year Jack Wilshere.
Alongside Dibling, Southampton also have talented right-winger Sam Amo-Ameyaw in their ranks, who is Dibling's England U19 teammate as well. While Dibling has taken a significant step in his career by establishing himself as a regular starter for the Saints, Amo-Ameyaw hasn't made a first team appearance for Russell Martin's side since scoring in the 5-3 Carabao Cup win against Cardiff City. Last month, Martin suggested that Amo-Ameyaw still needs to improve his physicality to feature more in the upcoming matches.
What next for U19 international at Southampton after the impressive rise of Tyler Dibling
While fitness is a key area which Amo-Ameyaw needs to focus, the former Tottenham Hotspurs academy graduate needs regular playing time to become a world class player in the Premier League. However, as Southampton have a huge squad depth in attack and midfield, this poses the question that what is next for Amo-Ameyaw at Southampton after Dibling's impressive rise. One of the options can be to play Amo-Ameyaw on the left-wing and if he scores goals on a consistent basis, then he can form a brilliant front three alongside Cameron Archer and Tyler Dibling.
However, Martin is most likely to give some chances to Paul Onuachu and Southampton's record signing Kamaldeen Sulemana on the left-wing role, thus, Amo-Ameyaw should consider joining a new club on a loan move in January. Moreover, Amo-Ameyaw should prefer a move to a Championship side as he will become more familiar with the athleticism, physicality and fitness required to succeed in the Premier League. Also, Amo-Ameyaw should take inspiration from the England national team with young stars such as Bukayo Saka, Cole Palmer and Jude Bellingham, who have become regular starters for the national side in the recent years.
Currently, Amo-Ameyaw would want to aim towards returning to a prolific goalscoring form in order to increase his chances of getting some playing time in the first team before a good loan move in the January transfer window.
